West Milford celebrates the Fourth with a community heart. The anchor event this year is the Community Day at West Milford High School Complex. It’s a full-day gathering that brings neighbors together across music, activities, and the kind of shared outdoor energy that defines summer in the Highlands!
West Milford Community Day 2026: Full Event Details
West Milford’s Community Day & 4th of July Fireworks celebration returns for its second year on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with a rain date of June 28. The event runs from 2 PM to 10 PM at the West Milford High School Complex, located at 67 Highlander Dr, West Milford, NJ 07480.
This year’s celebration carries extra significance as it coincides with America’s 250th birthday, making it a milestone occasion for the whole community. Local vendors will be set up throughout the grounds, giving attendees a chance to browse crafts and support businesses from the area.
Live music is on the lineup with Mr. Love Joy performing from 2 PM to 6:00 PM on the community stage, which also features local performance groups and acts. A Kids Fun Zone is available for $10 per child (cash only), giving younger attendees their own dedicated space to play and explore. Adults 21 and older can head to the beer garden (just make sure to bring a valid ID). Free classic backyard lawn games will be scattered throughout the event, open to everyone regardless of age.
The celebration also weaves in a local history component, with programming tied to America’s 250th anniversary. Prizes and free swag giveaways are planned throughout the day, so it’s worth sticking around.
Fireworks are scheduled to go off after sunset, though the final call rests with the Recreation Director and is subject to NJ Forest Fire Services’ approval based on fire risk conditions. Parking is accessible via Macopin Road, Maple Road, and Westbrook Road, with shuttle buses running from Echo Lake Church and Bubbling Springs Park. Attendees should note that no pets or coolers are permitted on the grounds, and bags are subject to search. But chairs are welcome!
